Liquid Web Review (2026): Managed WordPress, VPS and the Fine Print
Updated October 2026
Liquid Web at a Glance: The Short Verdict
Liquid Web is a business-focused host that sells managed WordPress hosting alongside managed VPS, dedicated servers, cloud dedicated servers and bare metal. Its managed WordPress plans bundle a Cloudflare-powered edge CDN, Object Cache Pro, Kadence Security Pro, daily backups and staging on every tier, and its managed VPS plans include a choice of cPanel, Plesk or InterWorx with Linux or Windows.
The short version: Liquid Web suits established businesses that want a single company for WordPress sites and the servers behind other workloads. The trade-offs are that managed WordPress plans host one site each, backup retention depends heavily on the tier, and the managed VPS intro discount lasts only the first two months before the regular rate applies.
What Is Liquid Web?
Liquid Web is a hosting company built around managed services for businesses, agencies and developers. Its product range covers managed WordPress, managed and self-managed VPS, managed and self-managed dedicated servers, cloud dedicated servers and bare metal. Its site footer reads "Liquid Web, LLC by Nexcess Corp."
That breadth is the main reason people shortlist it. A business can run its marketing site on managed WordPress and a custom application on a managed VPS or dedicated server, all with one provider. Liquid Web's site also lists WordPress software products such as Kadence, LearnDash, GiveWP and The Events Calendar, and its managed WordPress plans include Kadence Security Pro.
Who it is for, in brief:
- Businesses with a high-value WordPress site that want caching, security and backups handled at the platform level.
- Teams that also need servers, including Windows servers or a specific control panel.
- Agencies that want managed VPS or dedicated hardware for client workloads.
It is a less natural fit for a first blog, a hobby site or anyone shopping mainly on monthly price. For those, a budget plan from our cheap web hosting guide will usually go further.
Liquid Web Plans and Pricing
Liquid Web sells two product lines most site owners compare: managed WordPress and managed VPS. They are priced and structured very differently, so it helps to look at them separately.
Managed WordPress Plans
Managed WordPress comes in three tiers, Essentials, Pro and Elite, and each tier is offered at three traffic levels: 50,000, 150,000 or 400,000 monthly visitors. Every plan hosts one site. Storage and bandwidth scale with the traffic level, while backup retention scales with the tier.
| Traffic Level | Sites | Storage | Bandwidth |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50k visitors/mo | 1 | 15 GB | 2 TB |
| 150k visitors/mo | 1 | 40 GB | 3 TB |
| 400k visitors/mo | 1 | 100 GB | 5 TB |
Listed on Liquid Web's managed WordPress page, October 2026.
| Tier | Daily Backup Retention | Included on Every Tier |
|---|---|---|
| Essentials | 7 days | Edge CDN, WAF, DDoS protection, Object Cache Pro, staging |
| Pro | 14 days | Same core features |
| Elite | 30 days | Same core features |
Listed on Liquid Web's managed WordPress page, October 2026.
Liquid Web's managed WordPress page did not display dollar amounts for these plans when checked in October 2026, so this review does not quote a WordPress price. The page does show a monthly or annual billing toggle, with annual billing marked as a 10% saving. Check the live plan page, and confirm the renewal rate at checkout, before you commit.
Managed VPS Plans
Managed VPS pricing is published. All four plans are fully managed and include root access, a dedicated IP address, DDoS protection, unmetered inbound traffic, an API, and a choice of cPanel, Plesk or InterWorx, on Linux or Windows.
| vCPU | RAM | SSD Storage | Bandwidth | First 2 Months | Regular Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | 4 GB | 80 GB | 3 TB | $36/mo | $72/mo |
| 4 | 8 GB | 240 GB | 5 TB | $50/mo | $100/mo |
| 6 | 16 GB | 440 GB | 7 TB | $72.50/mo | $145/mo |
| 6 | 24 GB | 540 GB | 8 TB | $89/mo | $178/mo |
Listed on Liquid Web's managed VPS page, October 2026. Monthly billing; the 50% discount applies for the first two months.
Liquid Web Managed VPS: Intro vs Regular (Per Month)
As listed by Liquid Web in October 2026.
The pattern is simple: every plan's intro price is exactly half the regular price, and the discount covers two months. Over a first year on the 4 GB plan, that works out to two months at $36 and ten months at $72, or $792 before taxes and add-ons. Budget for the regular rate from month three, not the headline price.
Liquid Web also sells self-managed VPS, plus managed and self-managed dedicated servers, cloud dedicated servers and bare metal. Those pages were not used for pricing here. If you are weighing a VPS against shared hosting in general, our shared vs VPS hosting guide explains the trade-offs.
Liquid Web Key Features
Edge CDN and Object Cache Pro
Every managed WordPress plan includes an edge CDN powered by Cloudflare and Object Cache Pro, a premium Redis-based object cache. Liquid Web's page also refers to Cloudflare Enterprise. Edge caching serves pages from locations close to visitors, while object caching reduces repeated database work on dynamic sites such as stores and membership sites. Our what is a CDN guide covers how edge caching helps.
Kadence Security Pro and Virtual Patching
Security is layered. Plans list a web application firewall, DDoS protection, daily malware scans, free SSL, Kadence Security Pro and virtual patching through Patchstack. Virtual patching blocks known plugin vulnerabilities at the firewall before a plugin update is available, which matters on sites that run many plugins.
Staging, Visual Comparison and Automatic Updates
Staging sites are listed on every tier, together with automatic WordPress updates and a visual comparison tool that checks pages for layout changes after updates.
Stencils
Stencils are reusable site templates, listed on every plan. They are useful for agencies and teams that launch similar sites repeatedly, because a new site can start from a saved configuration rather than a blank install.
Control Panel Choice on VPS
On managed VPS, Liquid Web offers cPanel, Plesk or InterWorx, and Windows is available alongside Linux (AlmaLinux 9 by default). Our SPanel vs cPanel guide explains why control panel licensing can affect VPS costs.
Performance and Reliability
Liquid Web lists a "99.9999% power and network SLA" on its managed WordPress page, and its managed VPS page promises a 99.9% server uptime guarantee. These are company commitments, not measured uptime, and they cover different things: the WordPress figure refers to power and network, while the VPS figure refers to the server.
On the performance side, the platform features Liquid Web lists are edge caching through Cloudflare, Object Cache Pro, and add-ons it calls Performance Shield and autoscaling. Plan details describe autoscaling and CDN overage as usage-based extras, so ask how they are billed if your traffic is seasonal.
Each managed WordPress plan is sized by monthly visitors: 50,000, 150,000 or 400,000. If your site is near a threshold, the higher traffic level also brings more storage and bandwidth.
Support, Backups, Security and Migrations
Support
Liquid Web offers 24/7 expert support, with "Chat with an expert" as the main contact option on its plan pages and a published sales phone line.
Backups
Managed WordPress includes daily backups kept for 7 days on Essentials, 14 days on Pro and 30 days on Elite. That spread is wide. A week of history is enough for most quick rollbacks, but if a problem goes unnoticed for longer, the Pro or Elite tier gives more room. On VPS, Liquid Web lists built-in backups and Acronis backup storage; check backup pricing before you order.
Security
WordPress plans include a WAF, DDoS protection, daily malware scans, Patchstack virtual patching and Kadence Security Pro. VPS plans include DDoS protection.
Migrations
Every managed WordPress plan lists both a self-serve migration tool and migration by a human. If you would rather move a site yourself, our WordPress migration guide walks through the process.
Billing, Refunds and Fine Print
- WordPress prices were not displayed on the plan page when checked. Confirm the current price and renewal rate at checkout.
- Annual billing saves 10% on managed WordPress, according to the plan page toggle.
- The VPS discount lasts two months. From month three, plans bill at $72 to $178 a month.
- One site per WordPress plan. Several sites mean several plans, or a move to VPS.
- Usage extras exist. CDN overage and autoscaling are listed as plan-detail extras.
- No money-back guarantee or free trial was stated on the managed WordPress or managed VPS pages. Ask sales about cancellation terms before you buy.

Who Should Use Liquid Web?
Liquid Web makes the most sense when your hosting needs go beyond a single WordPress site. A company that wants managed WordPress for its main site, plus a managed Linux or Windows server for an internal tool, can keep everything with one provider and one support team. Agencies that need server-level control, a specific control panel or dedicated hardware will also find more options here than at a WordPress-only host.
Look elsewhere if you run several small sites and want them on one plan, if you want a long backup history on an entry plan, or if you want a published price and a refund window before you sign up. For a single business WordPress site, managed WordPress hosts such as Kinsta and WPX publish their monthly prices and include free malware removal.
